21 Icons is a coffee table book that portrays the lives of the people who have fought to make South Africa a better place. The project is inspired by the late Nelson Mandela, and makes use of photography, fine art, short films, and documentaries to depict the lives of South Africa’s greatest heroes.
The 21 Icons coffee table book offers exclusive access to a remarkable spread of characters. The portraits featured include those of FW de Klerk, Phillip Tobias before his passing, Desmond Tutu with a tutu, and Nelson Mandela’s last official photographic portrait.
The launch will take place at the Bibliophilia pop up shop at the Open Design Cape Town Festival on 20 August at 6:00pm at City Hall.
