21 Icons Portrait of a Nation

21 Icons South Africa culminates in a profound public exhibition. A first-hand experience of the collection of portraits, short films and feature-length documentary is to be hosted by the Maboneng precinct’s groundbreaking Museum of African Design, MOAD – a venue that embodies the forward-thinking spirit of the project.

Visitors to the exhibition are treated to an audio-visual, interactive walk-through that showcases the original portraits and accompanying short films. In addition to the tactile experience visitors have access to a unique 21 Icons smartphone Augmented Reality (AR) app that acts as a personal exhibition guide to the project’s full suite of audio-visual assets.

The exhibition runs from June 16 to August 17. Venue: MOAD, 281 Commissioner Street, Johannesburg, 2094. Opening hours: 10am – 5pm, Tuesday to Sunday.
